If you run a lifted Jeep and actually use it off road, factory sway bar links simply will not last. Rusty’s Front Sway Bar Quick Disconnects are built for strength, real articulation, and dependable performance on the trail.

This newest generation design features a heavy-duty 7/8" machined DOM tubing body paired with a larger 16mm x 1.5 threaded adjustment rod. The increased diameter and strength provide a much more durable disconnect capable of handling aggressive trail use and increased suspension travel.

A right-hand / left-hand threaded turnbuckle style center link allows for quick and easy length adjustment while the disconnect remains installed on the vehicle. Simply loosen the jam nuts and rotate the center section to fine-tune the length for your lift height.

Why Disconnect Your Jeep’s Sway Bar?

The factory anti-sway bar plays an important role on the street by connecting the left and right sides of the suspension to reduce body roll and improve stability during cornering.

Off road, however, that same sway bar limits suspension articulation because it resists independent wheel movement. When one side of the axle compresses, the sway bar transfers force to the opposite side, reducing how much the suspension can flex.

By disconnecting the sway bar from the axle, the suspension is able to move freely. This allows the axle to articulate fully, keeping the tires planted on uneven terrain and improving traction when navigating rocks, ruts, and off-camber obstacles.

Greaseable polyurethane high-misalignment spherical bushings allow smooth articulation while maintaining stability when the sway bar is connected for street driving.

TJ and LJ models include frame-mounted storage brackets to securely hold the disconnects when they are removed from the axle. XJ, MJ, and ZJ models include cinch straps that secure the disconnects to the sway bar when disconnected.
