- You do not need to buy a new driveshaft to install this lift kit. While there is a lot of talk about it, we've had many customers run this lift on a Jeep JL with their stock driveshaft without any problems. Whether or not you'll need an upgrade depends entirely on how you use your Jeep. If you frequently tackle harder off-road trails and conditions, the stock driveshaft will wear out faster, just as it would even without a lift. When that time comes, we recommend replacing it with an aftermarket heavy-duty (HD) driveshaft. Rusty's offers a complete line up of HD driveshafts for when you're ready.
