Geometry Correction and Bump Steer Elimination

Extreme vehicle lifts dramatically change the angle of the drag link and track bar, often leading to poor on-road manners, vehicle wandering, and the dangerous condition known as bump steer. Bump steer occurs when these two crucial suspension components operate on mismatched angles, causing them to rotate non-parallel to one another. The result is a steering system that pushes down on the axle instead of moving the wheel in a straight, lateral motion.

Rusty's has solved this by developing a system that includes the Rusty's Raised Track Bar Bracket. These components work in tandem to ensure the drag link and track bar are returned to a flatter, parallel alignment. By correcting these angles on highly-lifted vehicles, the system delivers a significant improvement in driving characteristics, offering smoother turning, reduced driver fatigue, and much better overall handling.

This kit is sold as a complete assembly and features:

• Massive 1.25" Threaded Tie Rod Ends: These adjustable, forged ends are zinc-plated for exceptional corrosion resistance and a long lifespan.

• Secure Hardware: The kit includes equally massive jam nuts and special serrated lock washers to ensure the tie rod ends and adjustments never vibrate loose, even under severe off-road abuse.

• Bolt-On Installation: This entire system is designed to bolt onto your vehicle; no welding or drilling required

In addition to correcting geometry, this kit provides a substantial clearance benefit, raising the tie rod 2-3/4" and the drag link 2-1/2" above the factory mounting points, resulting in over 2.5 inches of additional ground clearance for the most vulnerable steering components.

Product Fitment Notes

This high-steer configuration is designed specifically for extreme lift heights, so paying attention to fitment requirements is crucial for safety and performance.

• Lift Requirement: This system is only recommended for vehicles with over 4.5 inches of lift. Vehicles with 4 inches of lift or less are likely to experience frame contact with the drag link, which will limit suspension up-travel. If you are at or below the 4" mark, you must install properly sized extended bump stops.
  

• Wheel Size: You must have a 17 inch or larger diameter wheel.

• Wheel backspacing: You must have 4.75 to 5 inches of backspacing. Backspacing is the distance from the wheel's mounting surface to its inner edge. Wheel spacers are needed for stock wheels and may be required for some aftermarket wheels to ensure clearance. Rusty's offers compatible spacers from 1/4 inch to 1.5 inches thick.
