Always working on having the best products for the JL Wrangler, best in ride, handling, and articulation. We got back to doing more miles of testing in the desert and mountains of the west coast to the moss-covered mountain roads in Tennessee and North Carolina to the swamps of Florida and driven many highway miles in between. After doing this, we were confident to have the best coil spring design and knew our customers would appreciate having the best coil spring that could be built..
The design of the Rusty’s 3” coils for the Jeep JL suspension kit was done in collaboration with the engineers and manufacturing team. With Rusty’s 40 plus years in the off-road and jeep industry and their experience in coil spring design and manufacturing, we came up with a coil spring that offers remarkable handling manners, a quality ride around town, on the highway and even riding down an old red clay pothole road. These springs were started from scratch and are a totally different design and spring rate from the departing JK. This extensive development takes time and is costly to design and build. Beware of many manufacturers and their one-size-fits-all mentality by using springs that are designed for other applications. It's certainly cheaper to borrow designs from previous platforms, and it gets you to market more quickly, but that doesn't make it right. All of the Rusty's JL kits come with lower bow correction spring isolators, they also come with replacement front upper isolators and rear lower isolators. The factory rubber in the JL's just doesn't support the coil springs and these will. The Rusty's kit also comes with a HD front lower coil spring retainer so there is no way you will loose a spring if it over flexs. The Rusty’s 3" kit was designed off the Jeep Rubicon builds yet will give you the clearance to run 35-inch tires on Sport models, while some Rubicons can clear 37's with bump stop extensions or after market fender flares.
The front and rear axles are properly centered under the vehicle with new heavy-duty adjustable track bars rather than inferior drop brackets that regularly break due to the leverage put on them. All of Rusty’s JL suspension kits come with the Rusty’s track bar frame brace, Jeep has had issues with the factory mount ripping from the frame, with the frame brace you can have peace of mind that you never will have a failure.
Adjusting the castor after a vehicle has been lifted is a must, Rusty's does this with a set of front lower adjustable control arms. These arms are just massive, 2 inch DOM tubing, the strongest and highest quality of tubing, they are precision laser cut and then formed to give you a "High Clearance Design" yet designed to bolt right up without modifying the factory mounts. The front axle is secured by a set of Rusty’s beefy 2 inch DOM adjustable control arms. These arms correct the wheelbase after being lifted and enable the pinion angle and castor to be properly “dialed in”. With most of Rusty's kits you have the option to pick from the Rusty's proprietary flex bushing at both ends, at the adjustable end the bushing will be pressed into a monster 1.25 threaded forged mount. The flex rubber at both ends gives a smoother ride and absorbed much if not all of the harsh road vibes. It is also a maintenance free control arm. Replacement bushings can be bought separately. The other option is the Rusty's arms with our rebuild-able Flex Joint. These arms are built with the same DOM tubing, use the Rusty's proprietary rubber flex bushings at the axle and Rusty's Forged Flex Joint at the frame end. The Forged Flex Joint is stronger and offers slightly more articulation but do require maintenance usually in a year to 18 months. This depends on how the vehicle is used and taken care of.
To wrap up all the parts needed, the kit comes with front brake line extensions, front and rear extended sway bar links. There is not a more complete kit for the Jeep JL Wrangler in the industry.
